Mrs. Betty J. Smith of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. Interment to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610. 

Betty J. Smith was born in Okeechobee, Florida to Ms.  Minnie Durden on December 16, 1944. Betty grew up in Tampa, Florida, and attended St Peter Claver Catholic School and Howard W Blake High School. Betty married Oscar Smith Sr. in 1962 and has two sons, Oscar Smith Jr. and Albert L. Smith. Betty was a loving Wife, Mother, and Homemaker who also worked at Honeywell. Betty loved cooking and watching her beloved Bucs.

Betty was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Oscar Smith Sr.; mother, Minnie Durden; and mother-in-law, Ola Freeman.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her sons, Oscar Smith Jr. (Janice Smith), and Albert L. Smith (Elyse Greco-Smith); grandchildren, Damien Smith, Shalynn Smith, Stacia Williams (Nikkyo Williams), Jalen L. Smith, and Piper E. Smith; great-grandchildren, Damien Smith Jr., Damion Smith, Daijiona Smith, Daijoni Smith, Antwane Cox Jr., Jacey Hamilton, and Nova Williams; brother-in-law, Lamont; and a host of nieces, and other family and friends.
