Mrs. Beverly Carswell Garrett Footman of Tampa, FL, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at New Mt. Mrs. Beverly Footman was a Tampa, FL native and a resident for 82 years.  She attended Howard W. Blake High School and Hillsborough Community College and was a member of New Mt. Zion M.B. Church.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of West Tampa and was raised at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church.

She dedicated 33 years to her career as a Paraprofessional/Teacher’s assistant with Hillsborough County Public Schools before retiring in 2007.

Mrs. Beverly Footman was an active and faithful member of the New Mt. Zion M.B. Church for many years.  She was a former President of the Senior Mission Board and was known to have a beautiful voice and would love to sing her church songs on programs.  Mrs. Beverly, a former longtime member of First Baptist Church of West Tampa, was a choir member and lead vocalist for many years. She was also a longtime, dedicated church member and singer at Mt. Tabor M.B. Church, where she was raised.

Mrs. Beverly Footman, the matriarch of her family, believed in speaking her mind and telling it like it was.  She lived her life her way, very classy, prideful, and loved to dress up and wear her beautiful hats.

She loved her children, her family, and her church.  She never stopped praying until the very end.  Her faith was unwavering and her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, as well as all the students she taught throughout her career.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie B. Footman; parents, Isaiah & Ruth Carswell; her brothers, Nick Carswell, Marvin Warren, Carlton Warren; and her sister-in-law, Patrice Carswell.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her brother, Deacon Anthony Carswell Sr.; her sister, Carol Diane Wrice; her daughters, Barbara Garrett Bell (Willie Bell Jr.) and Beverly R. Davis (Craig Davis); her sons, Robert B. Garrett (Angela, Fiancée) and Charlie B. Footman (Tina); her grandchildren, Kevin Mark Streeter, Willie Rogers Bell III and William R. Bell; her great-grandchildren, Teona Moreaux and Lyric Streeter; and her great-great-grandchild, Asaiah Jean Louis.
