Mrs. Debora Tines-Dix

Mrs. Debora Tines-Dix, affectionately known as “Ma” to her children and grandchildren, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 70 in Tampa, Florida. She was surrounded by many of her loved ones during her final moments. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Bible Based Fellowship Church, 4811 Ehrlich Road, Tampa, FL 33624.

Debora was born on March 11,1954, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents Ulysses and Carmellia Tines. She attended Calumet High School and then furthered her education at Perdue University. Debora was an Educator for Hillsborough County Schools and loved making a difference in every child’s life. 

In 1993, Debora married her beloved husband, Theodore Dix in a beautiful ceremony, marking the beginning of a shared life filled with love and devotion.

Family was everything to Debora. She enjoyed spending quality time with her loved ones. Debora was truly a beacon of light and always the life of the party. Known for her loving and welcoming spirit, she could put a smile on anyone’s face. Although she will be missed dearly, the Tines-Dix family asks that she be remembered for the abundance of joy she brought to others in life and not by the sadness of her passing.

Debora leaves behind: her husband, Theodore Dix Sr.; daughter, Carmelita Tines; son-in-law, Raji Crawford; son, Theodore Dix; daughter-in-law, Sara Martinez; grandsons, Rychard and Rycheed Reddick; granddaughter, Ryanna Beckham, and her fiancé Uriah Bayete; amazing great granddaughter, Sahira Bayete (4); two sisters, Phyllis and Cancina Tines; brother, Ulysses Tines Jr.; and a host of several nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.

Debora Tines-Dix will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
