Mrs. Diane Denise Williams Obituary

Mrs. Diane Denise Williams of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Rev. Adrienne Hymes, Officiating. The interment will be held in the Sunset Memory Gardens located at 11005 US 301 N, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.

Diane Denise Williams was born on January 27, 1960, in Tuskegee, AL, to the late Wendell Powell Sr. and the late Juanita Powell. She was the youngest of three children. She received her education from Tuskegee Institute High School, Tuskegee, AL, her bachelor’s from the University of Alabama, and her master’s from Florida State University. She worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the University of South Florida.

At an early age, Diane joined St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Tuskegee where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She later recommitted her life to the Lord and knew that God would see her through any situation. She loved to paint, listen to music, and cheer on her favorite sports teams. She loved and valued her family and friends and brought light and joy wherever she went.  She was a kind soul who was always willing to listen if you needed someone to talk to and would give without expecting anything in return.

Diane joined in holy matrimony with Darryl Eugene Williams for over 30 years. To this union, three children were born: Danielle, Dorian, and David.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Wendell and Juanita Powell; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Esther Williams.

Diane leaves to cherish her memory: a loving and devoted husband and the love of her life, Darryl E. Williams; three devoted children, Danielle N Williams, Dorian I Williams, and

David K Williams all of Zephyrhills, FL; two brothers, Wendell Powell Jr. (Willhemena Alexander) of Lakeland, FL and Craig Powell (Irene Powell) of Montgomery, AL; two sisters-in-law, Danette C. Merkison and Angela D. Williams both of Jacksonville, Fl; surviving aunts, Althea Peters of Washington D.C., and Trudy Bradley Powell of Montgomery, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
