Noah and Flossie Ford welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Dixie Lee, on December 1, 1946, in Mullins, SC. The family later moved to Sumter, SC, where Dixie attended local schools. She later moved to Tampa, FL, where she met her husband of 58 years, Albert Holton Sr. Albert and Dixie were married on December 24, 1967 and had five children: Alicia, Albert Jr., Lewanda, Shenita, and Taraina.

Dixie lived a life of service. As a young wife and mother, she spent many years taking care of her immediate and extended family and raising her girls. She always found ways to give back. Whether volunteering at her church, giving a neighbor a ride to the grocery store or opening her home to a relative in need, she believed in helping others.

She loved to sew and cooking was her love language, specifically baking desserts. She was well-known around town for her German Chocolate and Red Velvet cakes, among others. After her girls got older, Dixie went back to work and retired from United Technology. After retiring, she traveled with her family and spent time nurturing her grandchildren. She and Albert moved to Fredericksburg, VA, in 2022 and she remained there until her passing.

Dixie was preceded in death by: her son, Albert Jr.; grandsons, Kobie and Terrel Ferrel; her parents, Noah Ford, Flossie Ford Johnson and stepfather, Cornie Johnson Sr.; brothers, Ulysses, Booker, and Jimmie Ford; Harrison, Cornie Wayne, Douglas, James, and Ricky Johnson; sisters, Noah Lee Ford, Alice Faye Fennie, and Patricia Ann Durant.

She leaves behind: her loving husband, Albert; daughters, Alicia and Taraina Holton, Lewanda Hunter (Darin) and Shenita Blount (Ronald); brothers, Cornie Johnson Jr. and Calvin Johnson (Diana); sisters, Mary Francis Ford, Mattie Smith, Vivian Murray, Sarah White, Carlene Harris (Reggie), Carolyn Lewis (Elbert), Flossie Ann Brisbon (Jasper) and Deloris Brown; brothers-in-law, Jerry Fennie, Clarence Holton (Agatha), Charles Holton, Ronald Holton (Ruth), and Don Holton (Izeal); sisters-in-law, Cassie Ford, Judy Jones, Mamie Ford, and Iris Holton. Dixie leaves behind her longtime friend, Ella Jan Reid; niece/bonus daughter, Alison Goodwine Ankuma and a host of sorrowing relatives from the Chapman, Ford, Green, Holton, Johnson, Richards, and Shephard Families.
