Mrs. Geraldine Victoria Ford Obituary

Mrs. Geraldine Victoria Ford of Tampa, FL passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, 1605 N. Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, FL 33602 with Apostle David Watkins, Officiating.

Geraldine Ford was the eldest of 6 children born in Tampa Florida on May 29,1949 to John Henry Griffin and Margaret Hall, but she was raised by Maeola Hall-Miller. She attended schools in Hillsborough County and graduated from Blake High School in 1968. She also received her Medical Assistant degree. She was employed by Hillsborough County School Systems until she retired. Geraldine was a woman with deep spirit that could never be extinguished. She enjoyed gardening, watching football, dancing, shopping, and spending time with family. She also played an active role in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was honest, compassionate, wise, and humble with a smile that lifted everyone around her. "God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; There shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" (Revelation 21:4)

She was preceded in death by: her late husband, Gary Ford Sr.; mother, Maeola Miller; 3 brother-in-laws, John Ford, Tony Ford, and David Myers; cousin, Yolinda Anderson; sister-in-law, Juliette Diggs Backman; and best friend, Sandra Tribute.

She leaves behind: her loving children, two daughters, Felisha Parson and husband Tony, Tameka Howell, and husband Anthony and one son, Andrian Hicks; two stepsons, Terrance Ford and wife Carolyn, and Gary Ford Jr.; bonus daughter, Cherrell Akins-Williams; five granddaughters, Chanterria Hicks, I'Mari Flowers, Micaiah Young, Adrionna Hicks, and Aviona Hicks; five grandsons, Sha'Von Flowers, DeNario Hicks, Reginald Young Jr., Tu'Wan Flowers, and Adrian Hicks; bonus grandson, Dakota Alexander; four sisters, Madeline Cook and husband Jeryll, Maeola Myers, Valencia Gilchrist and husband Reginald, and Margaret Noel and husband Alfred; one brother, James Hall; brother-in-law, Wallace Diggs and wife Tichnia; two sister-in-laws, Carolyn Ford and Aline Ford; aunt, Joyce Griffin; four great granddaughters, Malaysia Wells, Jere'Myia Wells, Tynari Young, and Cali Reed; three great grandsons, Denario Hicks Jr., Chouice Stewart, and Ceejay Stewart;  ten nieces, Latasa Williams, Kawanis Gordon and husband Raheem, Shemika Solomon and husband Bryan, Shanara Miller, Nakeisha Miller, Sophia Davis, Talisia Miller, Sabrina Jones, Marneisha Giles, Quatisha Giles, and Shakyla Truitt; two nephews, Jayqwan Hall and Albert Sherrod; Godson, Nathan Anderson; devoted cousins, Juanita Johnson, Yolanda Walton and husband Louis; her loving and caring neighbor, Dontate Rogers; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
