Mrs. Gloria Spotford Rhanes

Mrs. Gloria Louise Spotford Rhanes of Tampa, FL passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 1207 N. Jefferson Street, Tampa, FL 33602 with Rev. Dr. Brett Snowden, Pastor, Officiant/Eulogist.

Gloria Louise Spotford Rhanes (her husband, friends, and family members lovingly referred to her as Weezy) was born November 22, 1947, in Tampa, Florida. She was a proud graduate of Middleton High School, Class of 1965. She spent the majority of her life in Tampa. Prior to retirement, she worked for more than 20 years at Southern Wine & Spirits. In her spare time, she enjoyed the activities of the casino, spending time with her family and friends, cheering on the Miami Dolphins, watching game shows, and playing cards. She was a member of Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, attending in her childhood and rejoining in her adult years.

Gloria was preceded in death by: her husband, Claude; parents, Allen and Audrey; son, Allan; and siblings, Carolyn and Howard.

In honoring her legacy, she leaves behind: her children, La Fawn, Eric (Shanta), and Brian (Pachovia); grandchildren, La Keisha (Bryant), Eboni (Ty), Paul, Emani (Nikayla), Emara, Jada, and Karter; great-grandchildren, Tyce, Tatum, Emerson, and Trace; best friend/ sister, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gloria’s family would like to thank the compassionate nursing staff of Victoria Crossing Rehabilitation Center who provided immense care over the past several months leading up to her passing on March 26, 2025: Carl, Juanita, Letisia, Martha, Shirlene, Suze, and Zoyia. The family would like to also give special thanks to neighbors, Catherine and Roslyn; and nieces, Carol and Angela for their devotion and regular welfare check-ins.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 1207 N. Jefferson Street, Tampa, FL 33602.
