Mrs. Gloria Faye Johnson of Tampa, Florida passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, 3:00 p.m. at the David M. Barksdale Active Older Adult Center, 1801 N. Lincoln Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607.
Gloria Faye Johnson was a native of Thomasville, Georgia, and a resident of Tampa for 71 years. She attended Middleton High School and was a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. She had a long career in Banking as a Loan Officer at various banks in Tampa.
Faye was preceded in death by: her husband, Reynold Johnson; her parents, James and Susie Coleman; her in-laws, Jasper and Christine Johnson; her aunts, Hattie Mae Gatlin and Ollie Mae Granberry; her uncles, Eugene Johnson and Sinclair Gatlin; a nephew, Jimmy Coefield; and two first cousins, George Gatlin and Lessie Gatlin.
Faye leaves to cherish memories: her son, Willie James Bailey, Jr. (JoAnne); 2 daughters, Veronica Y. Womack (Tommie) and Susan D. Johnson (Stephen); 6 grandchildren, Veronique Bailey, Jacquelyn Bailey, Dwayne Bailey, D’Juan Holliman, Devin Bailey, and David Johnson; 7 great-grandchildren, Jazmine Anderson, Jalissa Anderson, Saniyah Woullard, Kaylah Harris, D’Angelo Bailey, Dallas Bailey, and Journi Swilley; sisters-in-law, Josephine Johnson Donaldson and Carrie Verdena Coefield; nieces, Patricia Brown, Geraldena Coefield, and Gwendolyn Coefield; first cousins, Leon Gatlin Sr., Priscilla Terrell, Abra Chambers, Melvin Gatlin, and Cassandra House; and a host of relatives and many close friends.
A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
