Mrs. Irene Fowler Obituary

Mother Irene Hunter Lindsey Fowler found eternal rest with the Lord as she transitioned to end her journey on earth on Friday, August 05, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Greater Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, 1225 N. Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, FL 33602 with Pastor Dr. B. R. Fulton Jr., Officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, 11:30 a.m. in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL 33513. MASK RECOMMENDED.

The book of life opened for Mother Irene (Hunter) Lindsey Fowler on June 27, 1927, in Blakely, GA. She was born to the parentage of the Walter and Vanester Hunter Adams and blessed with a second father, the Reverend Mancefield Adams.

On her journey she was a faithful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Mother Fowler was educated in the public Schools of Georgia. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at an early age. She loved her Christian life as she served on the Mother's Board, Pastors Aid, as an Usher, singing in the Choir and serving on the Culinary committee at Greater Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, until the declination of her health. She truly Loved the word of God. She Loved Reading, Cooking, and Gardening. 

Mother Fowler was preceded in death by: her father, the Walter Hunter; second father, Reverend Mancefield Adams; mother, Vanester Hunter Adams; husbands, Flay W. Lindsey (23 years), and Retired SGT. Hubbard Fowler (38 years); children, Agnes Lindsey Rainey, and Ralph Lindsey; granddaughter, Stephanie Lindsey; and brother, Walter Hunter, Jr.

Upon her homegoing, Mother Fowler leaves to cherish wonderful memories that will live forever within the hearts of her Family and Friends: A devoted, caring, and committed daughter, Ms. Betty Jo Lindsey, Tampa, FL, and Bonnie Lindsey Collins (Robert) Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Chevon and Chelsea Young Lindsey of Tampa, FL, Krystal Collins of Atlanta, GA, Byron and Kevin Rainey of Atlanta, GA, Neal, Tim, Keith, Tonya,  Carey, and Gail Lindsey, West Palm Beach, FL; sister in-laws, Frankie and Elma Mae Fowler of Austin Tx.; brother-in-law, Marvin Rainey of Atlanta, GA; nephew, Sonny Hunter (Mel) of Waldorl, MA; special friend, Mother Alberta Dowdell; neighbor, Ms. Linda Hicks of Tampa, FL; The Rodgers Family Reunion; The Oakhurts Square Apartments (where she lived for 38 years); and a host of great grandchildren, nephews,  nieces,  cousins,  In-Laws,  friends and Church family.

The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.  MASK RECOMMENDED.
