Mrs. Joann Jackson-Grady quietly slipped away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Allen Temple AME Church, 2101 N. Lowe Street, Tampa, FL 33605. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610
Joann Grady was born on June 7, 1952, in Dawson, GA. Her parents were the late Emory Jackson, Sr., and Mattie Jackson. Joann attended and graduated from Howard W. Blake High School. Her career was with the Merchants Association and Portamedic Exam Services. Joann loved the Lord, and she accepted Him at an early age. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Joe Grady; parents, Emory Jackson, Sr. and Mattie Jackson; her brother, Emory Jackson, Jr.; two grandchildren Yardrik Soloman Jackson and Anja Jkobi Jackson; three nieces; and her Adopted son, Tyrone Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her one and only son, Yardrik Jackson (Tamika); grandchildren, Junai Bartlett, Yardrik Reaves Jackson Jr., Briana Jackson, Samise Jackson, Rhayna Jackson, Madisyn Jackson, and Brooklyn Jackson; Tyler and Tiana Thomas, great-grandchildren, Ava and Tyron , Elijah, and Bryce ; brothers, Sammy Jackson and Ronnie Cole; sisters, Mattie Jackson Kelly and husband Curtis, and Ruby Edwards; extended families members include, the Browns, Thomas, and Howards; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
