Mrs. Lizzie Johnson of Tampa, FL, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at New Bright and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1805 N. Albany Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607, with Reverend R. Pierce, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Mrs. Lizzie Johnson was a native of Cairo, GA and a resident of Tampa for over 60 years. She attended Grady County Public Schools and was a member of New Bright and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed as a Laundry Worker at Pan American Linen.
She was preceded in death by: her father, James Jones; her mother, Eva Jones; her son, James Jones; and her husband, Willie D. Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two loving daughters, Linda Johnson and Michelle Johnson of Tampa; daughter-in-law, Regina Simpson-Jones six grandchildren, Jessica King (Michael), Charles (Jay-R) Nelson, Nathaniel Williams (April) all of Tampa, Shamara Brown (Alex) of Houston, Theresa Jones, Deja Turner (Shai-Ann), and Z'nai Villegas all of Tampa; seven great-grandchildren, Dontiay Campbell, Donnell King, Isley King, and Mi’Kyla Holley all of Valdosta, GA, Ka’hniyah Nelson, Ja'nysia Nelson, Ja’Mari Nelson, and Julian Adams all of Tampa; four brothers, Elish Jones (Evelena) of Orlando, FL, Alonzo Jones (Mary) of Melbourne, FL, Mack Jones of Cocoa, FL, and Melvin Jones of Tampa, FL; three sisters, Mary Dean Jugger of Ft. Myers, FL, Mary Lee Jones of Cocoa, FL and Ollie Jones of Calvary, GA; two God sisters, Carolyn Ford and Alva Russell of Tampa; Godchildren, Tamara (George) Cox, Demetria Presley, Latasha Campbell, Alyce Brown, Gary and Terrace Ford all of Tampa; long-time friends, Annie Pearl Stokes and Dorothy Jones; and a host of sorrowing relatives, friends and all our friends who call her “ma” and “grandma”.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
