Mrs. Margaret Jean Smith Claritt's Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd, Tampa, FL 33619, with Reverend David Mazon, Eulogist. The interment will follow in the Wimauma Community Cemetery, 6912 Edina Street, Wimauma, FL 33598.

Mrs. Margaret Jean Smith Claritt, a humble and dedicated, virtuous woman of God, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, transitioned from this earthly life on Friday, April 25, 2025. Margaret’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. She leaves behind a wealth of cherished memories. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, George Edward Claritt, Sr.

She is survived by: her three daughters, R. Colette Glover-Hannah (Chadwick), Darina Glover, and Alicia Claritt; Stepson, George Edward Claritt, Jr.; two adopted daughters, Nakeya Glover and Angel Thomas (Aron); Godson, Floyd Dozier, II; seven grandchildren, Ryan Jeter (Stephanie), Chadwick Hannah, II (Savannah), Devin Russell (Jocelyn), Elois Hannah, Rayna Russell, Shanita Claritt, and Shavita Claritt; five great-grandchildren, Ebele Houston, Ryan Jeter, Gianna Russell, Zora Jeter, and Cyrus Hannah; brother, Elijah West, Jr.; three sisters, Dora Reese, Rita West, and Gwendolyn West; her dear, loving long-time friend, Ethel Dozier; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will miss her dearly.

May Margaret Jean Claritt rest in eternal peace, knowing she made the world a better place with her presence and left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
