Mrs. Ola Jorden Obituary

Ms. Ola May Jorden of Tampa, FL passed away on Sunday November 27, 2022. Homegoing Services will be held on Saturday December 10, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at College Hill Church of God in Christ, 6414 North 30th Street, FL 33610 with Elder Donald F. Jorden, Sr., Eulogist and Deacon David C. Jordan, Sr., Officiating. Interment will follow at the Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Ola was born on January 26, 1939, to Ida May and Johnnie Gatewood.  Her favorite activities were going to Church, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

 

Ola May was a native of Coila, MS, and a resident of Wimauma, FL for 65 years. She attended Shady Grove Grade School and graduated from Carroll County Agricultural High School and was a member of College Hill COGIC. She was employed early on as a Migrant Worker and Farm Labor Crew Leader and later as a Housewife.

 

She was preceded in death by: her husband of 52 years, Charles Jorden; son, Charles Jorden, Jr.; mother, Ida May Gatewood; father, Johnnie Gatewood; three sisters, Essie L. Gatewood, Martha Taylor, and Luemlia Gatewood; and four brothers, General G. Gatewood, John E. Gatewood, Johnnie G. Gatewood, and Curtis Gatewood (AnnieRuth).

 

She leaves to cherish her memory: 10 children, Joyce D. Jorden (James Lowman), Myrtis Fowler, Wonder Jorden (James), Anthony G. Jorden (Gwendolyn), Craig S. Jorden (Pamela), Rosie M. Jorden, Jacquelyn M. Jorden, Donald F. Jorden, Sr. (Ta-Tanisha), Johnny M. Jones, and David C. Jorden, Sr. (Kathy); 3 brothers, Ed Gatewood, Percy Gatewood, and L.C. Gatewood; 3 sisters, Mable Partlow, Myrtis Cobbins (Dewitt), and Lula Mae Thompson;  In-Laws: Johnny Jorden, Robert L. Jordan (Odessa), Betty Crowder (Jessie-D), Mammie Spencer (James-D), Gertrude Sykes (Larry), grandchildren, Yves P. Jeanty, Tonya T. Burney (Shawn), Anthony M. Jorden, Kayla M. Holder (Victor), Aleshia Golfin (Deon), Sophia K. Walker (Tyrone), Stephanie N. Jorden, Craig S. Jorden Jr. (Jameca), Jessica E. Guido, James T. Lee Jr. (Teyonia), Joshua C. Jorden, Nandi E. Jorden, Casey M. Jorden, Donald F. Jorden Jr., Joseph N. Jorden, Kaitlyn D. Jorden, Casey M. Jorden, Donald F. Jorden Jr., Joseph N. Jorden, Kaitlyn D. Jorden, David C. Jorden Jr., Simeon J. Jorden, Noah A. Jorden, Nathan B. Jorden Samuel M. Jorden, Jude G. Jorden, Gevevieve H. Jorden, and Michaela Jones; special niece, Caterial Brown (Rodney); special cousin, Katie Lou Jorden; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and adopted neighborhood children.

 

The visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at College Hill Church of God in Christ, 6414 North 30th Street, FL 33610. MASK RECOMMENDED.
