Mrs. Pauline Jewel Black Obituary

Mrs. Pauline Jewel Black affectionately known as “Mrs. Pauline” of Tampa, FL passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, 11:0 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 2002 N. Rome Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607 with Reverend Jay L. Jackson, Pastor, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Mrs. Pauline Jewel Black was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County. Mrs. Black was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary Board. She was a devoted Christian, loving, well-respected, and an extraordinary person. Mrs. Black loved to engage in conversation on any given topic. She was a delightful person.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Otis Carlo Black of 12 years; parents, Samuel James Singleton and Beatrice Hortense Singleton; brother, Robert Lee Singleton (Chip); auntie, Addie Elizabeth Branton; uncles, Walter Young Jr. and Jerry Young; niece, Jessica Singleton; sister-in-law, Andra Singleton; and cousin, Ada Marie Lee.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her siblings, Samuel V. Singleton, Dr. Dorothy M. Singleton, and Jewel H. Singleton; nephews, Philip D. Carey, James Hardy Jr. (Dee), Rante Singleton, Dante Singleton (Shanda), Dietrick Singleton, Robert Singleton, and Christopher Singleton (Tonya); nieces, Treneice Singleton and Anndrea Carey-Baskett (Cedrick); sister-in-law, Debbie Singleton; cousins, David Snow III (Beverly), Gloria Hart and Elem Hart Jr.; and a host of great nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
