Obituary

Mrs. Rose E. Weaver of Tampa, FL passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at First Mt. Carmel AME Church, 4406 N. 26th Street, Tampa, FL 33610 with Rev. Louis E. Grant, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E, Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Rose E. Weaver, the seventh of eight siblings, was born November 21, 1950, in Tampa, FL to the late Elder Robert Lee Fields Sr. and the late Alma H. Fields. Rose received her education through Hillsborough County Public Schools and was a graduate of Middleton High School. She joined First Mt. Carmel where she remained a faithful stewardess throughout her life until her illness and death. She served her community in hospitality in Buncombe County, NC. Rose was married to Thomas E. Weaver for over five decades. They both have resided in Tampa, FL for over twenty-one years.

Rose loved thrifting, traveling, and being surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas E. Weaver; brothers, Rodgers McFadden Sr., and Robert Lee Fields; sisters, Corine Fields-Langston, Mercedes F. Miller, and Marjorie Covington; daughters, Ellen “Jean” Taylor (Anthony Taylor), and Bridgette Shaw; and best friend, Willie Ruth Ellington.

Rose leaves to cherish her memories: her loving children, sons, Thomas E. Weaver Sr., Gregory Weaver Sr., and Eric Weaver; daughters, Cathy Gordon (Cedric), and Erica Weaver; stepdaughter, Sabrina Stepp (Shywanna); son-in-law, Shawn Shaw; grandsons, Anthony Weaver Sr. (Cierra), Tornell Taylor (Daphne), Deshawn Bailey, Gregory Banks, Cameron Gordon, Cedric Gordon Jr., Brittan Gordon, Gregory Weaver Horton, Brayden Weaver Horton, and Thomas Weaver III; great nephew, Nathan Green; granddaughters, Lakeytha Houston (Gerrell), Latina Watkins (Omar), Taevon Brinkley, Breanna Banks, Desare Weaver, Janey Gordon, Jaila Gordon, Tayliah Weaver, Tamia Weaver, Kayla Williams, and Tateonah Weaver; great grandsons, Anthony Weaver Jr., Zorian Weaver, Aiden Weaver, Tornell Taylor Jr., Tristan Taylor, Elijah Taylor, Antonio Williams, Robert Coleman, Brenton Houston, Jayden Houston, Bryce Jones, Maurice Watkins, Zechariah Watkins, Elijah Watkins, Kaishon Williams, and Timothy “TJ” Blair Jr.; great granddaughters, Malani Weaver, Armani Weaver, Sy’Miah Bailey, Za’Niya Daniels, Jalani Caldwell, Maliayah Watkins, Lauryn-Renea Watkins, Ger’Niya Houston, Ger’Raeya Houston, and Ger’Riah Houston; sisters, Elder Ella Porter (Marvin) and Jackie Green; special friend, Mrs. Mae Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
