Mrs. Sabrina Canty Hart Obituary

Ms. Sabrina Canty Hart of Tampa, FL passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive AME Church, 1902 W. Lasalle Street, Tampa, FL 33607 with Rev. Gregory V. Gay, Sr., Officiating. The interment will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 11:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Sabrina Canty Hart was born on July 13, 1960, to the late Bernice Davis in Tampa, Florida.

“Sabrina,” as she was affectionately known, was a vibrant and loving person who touched the lives of many with her compassion, kindness, and generosity.  To know, Sabrina, was to know her huge heart.  She was always generous with her love.  She dedicated her life to the Church, fiercely nurturing her family and others. After attending school and graduating from Brandon High School, in Tampa, Florida.  She pursued a bachelor’s degree at Bethune-Cookman College in 1985 with a degree in Business Administration and later earned a master’s degree from the University of South Florida. She became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. in 2008; where she served faithfully until her health declined.

Sabrina spent most of her working life with Girls Scouts for over 27 years. She was very passionate about her career with the Girls Scouts of America where she retired in 2023, serving then as the Director of Membership Extension.   Sabrina touched many lives and made numerous friends.

Sabrina was a former member of Greater Mt. Carmel AME Church, where she served faithfully on the usher board and was a member of the choir.  In the early 90’s she became a faithful member of Mt. Olive AME Church, where she served on Usher Board #3.

She was preceded in death by: her three siblings, Roland James Davis, Brenda Joyce Davis, and Velton Davis.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her devoted son, Mark Hart II; sister, Ms. Linda Jo Davis; brothers, Mr. Robert Davis (Barbara) and Mr. Steven Tolbert (Audrea); nieces; Sabrina Wilson (Johnny), Rhobena Davis, Erika Davis, Courtney Johnson, Jasmine Marshall, Xlanna Tolbert, Ariyon McDonald, Nakia Sampson, Heaven Wallace, Sasha Davis, Shaela Davis, Journi Scriven, Denequa Wheatley, Aniyah Tolbert; nephews, Robert Davis, Adrian Davis, Steven Tolbert Jr., Jayceon Tolbert, Malcolm Randolph, Jaylen Wilson, Judah Adams and Josiah Adams, special friends Cecily Graham, Hannah Jones, and Kendra Sykes; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Very special thank you to: caregiver, sister, and friend, Bonnie Rushing; very special friends, Marilyn Miller, Linda Faye Williams, Nadine Johnson, Roroy Smith, Donna Burton, Caren Perez (Tootie), and Sheron Abernathy; and special cousin, Jacquelyn Rushing.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
