Mrs. Selena Shannon

Mrs. Selena Shannon of Tampa, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023.  Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 1:00 p.m. at CityLife Church, 8411 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614, with Apostle Charles Davidson, Officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610. 

Mrs. Selena Shannon was a native of Tampa for 67 years.  She attended Hillsborough High School and was a member of CityLife Church. 

She was preceded in death by: her mother, Rose Marie Smith; brothers, Johnny Murray Jr., and Russell Mitchell Jr.; and sisters, Bridgette Norris, and Cecile Davis. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Darrell Shannon; sons, Corey Norris (Earl), Mario Norris (Raina), and Johnie Brown; daughter, Ponchetta Coleman; step-daughters, Sheila Wilson (Kwane), and Shawn Lewis (Alphonso); sisters, Patricia Howell (Joe), Kaytura Grayson, and Belinda Rasheed (David); brothers, Clyde Smith Jr. (Leah), and Eric Worthy; brothers-n-law, Horace Stroud and wife, and Ronald Shannon; granddaughters, Kenyata Lanier (DD), Jada Jackson, Mariyon Norris, and Selena Jackson; grandsons, Morgan Lanier (Lovely), Mario Norris Jr., Jarmar Jackson, and Makai Norris; step-grandkids, Alvontre Lewis, Alaysha Lewis, Amiya Lewis, Dionminique Casey, Ja’kwane Wilson, and Qua’nylah Wilson; great- granddaughter, Penelope Devlin; uncle, Greg Miller; aunts, Veronica Troupe, Claudette Mungin, and Sharon Lancaster; nephews, Freddie Bryant, James Mond, Hilton Williams, Jarvis Williams, Deont’a Davis (Dominique), Dontae Davis, and Devont’a Davis (NeNe); nieces, Kendra Grayson, Shequitha Highsmith, Fredrika Harris, Icika Andrews, Lakisha Grayson (Junior), and Samara Smith; cousins, Coloyer, Jacqueline Winbush, April and Ashley, Roshanda, Gary, Jermaine, and Gregory; and a host of other; and a host of relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
