Mrs. Thelma Ponds Davis of Tampa, FL, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, 12:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Bro. Frederic Gray, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Thelma Ponds Davis was born on January 21, 1948, to Mary Ethel Dixon and Wadis Marlin Ponds. On March 2, 1968, she married Roland Elliot Davis, and to this union, 3 daughters were born: Jacqueline Rene, Kimberly Anne, and Tina Louise (Jermaine). From her children, 10 grandchildren were born, Keith (Vanessa) Addison, Jr., Ebony (Jonathan) Baker, Ashley Rene Williams, James Arthur Williams, III, Patrick Hubbard (Angie), Alexander (Danielle) Rahmings, Jr., Ciera (Darius) Anderson, Demetrius Rahmings, Tynesha Anne Williams, and Choice Miller, III. With there being 13 great-grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her siblings, Wadis Ponds, Jr., Boris Ponds, Stephen Ponds, Carlas (Alex) Moore, Emma Jean (Benji) Hammond, Douglas Woodard, Rufus Woodard, Ronnie Woodard, and Michale William Smith; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Roland Davis; her parents, Mary Dixon and Wadis Ponds; her brothers, Ronnie Lee Smith and Ricardo (Sue) Ponds; and her grandson, Devin D’Angelo Hubbard.
Special thanks to her BFF, Gwen Laster, for all that she has done; to sister Marilyn Lovell, who went above and beyond, and to Kathy, Dan/Julia, Pat, and Alice for their loyalty and friendship.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
