Mrs. Tia Lanier of Tampa, FL passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating.
Tia was preceded in death by: her mother, Ceola Lanier; father, Henry Fred Baker; fraternal grandmother, Katie Williams; maternal grandmother, Laura Hutchins; brothers, Morgan Lanier, Sr., and Willliam Lanier Sr.; mother-in-law, Dorothy Beets; aunts, Blanche Baker, Gertrude Baker, Hattie Grice, Ethel Williams, and Starrie Conley; uncles, Tommy L. Baker, Sr., and Luther Hutchins, Sr.; and special cousins, Antoinette Davis, Anthony Miller Jr., and Keith Scott.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, Markcus Downey, Sr.; her children, Shakeema Downey, and Markcus Downey Jr.; stepdaughter, Shauntierria Downey; brother, Darren Lanier, Jr.; brother-in-law, Travis Downey; stepmother, Evelyn Baker; uncle, Charzell Baker (Sherry); nieces, Ceola Lanier, Sabrina Lanier, Senora Downey, and Tranysha Downey; nephews, Demarco Lanier, Greg Lanier, Morgan Lanier, Shane Downey, William Lanier V, and Travis Gray; several great nieces and nephews; aunts, Ola Baker, Patricia Baker, and Gloria Hutchins; special cousins, Tomica Wilson (Lawrence), Frederick Baker (Edith), Antonio Davis (Nicole), Fontella Gilbert (Ezell), Chavillia Carter (Lucious), Maurice Miller, Laura Julien (Leyland), Shou Williams, Taylor Davis, Cynthia Trussell, and Leroy Hutchins; close friend, Jack Brunell; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
