Ms. Anita Barton

Ms. Anita aka “Monkey” Barton of Tampa, FL passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Pastor Gregory Mason, Officiating. The Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea Street, Tampa, FL 33610. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Ms. Anita Barton was born on January 22, 1956, in Tampa, Florida to the late Willie Barton and Allene Barton. Anita was a native of Tampa, Florida. She attended Hillsborough County public schools. Anita spent the majority of her work life in the Food Service industry.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by: her brothers, Marvin Leconner Barton of Tampa, FL., and Willie Barton Jr. of Syracuse, New York.

Anita leaves to cherish her memories: her sisters, Willene Golden (late Pelham), Vilda Barton, Marilyn Solomon (Richard), Terri Brewer (Ron), and Geina Henderson (George) all of Tampa; brothers, Darrell Barton, Alvin Barton of Augusta, Ga., Manuel Barton and Larry Barton of Tampa, FL., and Richard Barton (Marie) of Syracuse, New York; longtime good friends, Debbie Brehm, Michael Livingston, Robin Tyson, Gail Carnell, Margo Hightower, V. Patterson, and the late Harriet Stoney all of Central Park Village; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she helped raise.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel. MASK RECOMMENDED.
