A Homegoing Celebration of Life for Ms. April C. Hamilton of Tampa, FL, who received her crown in heaven on Sunday, September 20, 2026, will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive AME Church, 1902 W. LaSalle Street, Tampa, FL 33607, with Pastor James Scruggs of Elevation Life Center, Brandon, FL, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Born on March 8, 1980, April was the beloved baby girl of Horace Bludsaw and Betty Ann Mouling; her stepfather, Freddie Lee Mouling; and Laurice Hamilton Jr.
After receiving her high school diploma, she continued her education by taking college courses to enhance her professional growth. She worked at both Aetna and Walmart until her passing.
April was more than a devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend; she was someone who loved deeply and gave freely without expecting anything in return. Her warm spirit and strong faith left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She was a passionate sports critic, especially when it came to basketball and football–never missing the opportunity to root for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She also loved watching movies.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Betty Ann and Freddie Lee Mouling, and Laurice Hamilton Jr.; her grandparents, A.C. and Dorothy Carr, and Hilda Bludsaw; along with uncles, aunts, nephew, and cousins.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her sons, James Davis, Jacquez Davis, Jaden Davis (Nyah), and Jaheim Hamilton; her bonus son, Demarco Bentford; her father, Horace Bludsaw; her sisters, Nekeva Johnson (Charles), Lashondra Hamilton-Williams, and Pamela Reeves; her brother, Laurice Hamilton 3rd (Lakeila); her aunts, Mary Ford and Hazelle Barrett (Roy); her uncles, Elijah Carr (Marjorie), Otis Carr, Robert Carr (Illene), and Casey Sheffield; her beloved friend, Travis Harris; four step-sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving and devoted friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
