Sister Arthenia “Vanessa” Brinson-Blair of Tampa, FL, gained her wings on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Friendly Missionary Baptist Church, 2012 W. Walnut St, Tampa, FL 33607, Pastor Johnnie Miller, Eulogist with Min. Tim Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery,4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Sister Arthenia “Vanessa” Brinson-Blair was born on March 3, 1964, in Tampa, Florida, to Rev. Arthur Lee Brinson and Sis. Marjorie James. She was the second oldest of six children.
She attended Hillsborough County public schools. She accepted Christ into his life at an early age. She has been a long-time member at Friendly Missionary Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida, as well as a resident of Progress Village. She was a certified Nursing Assistant at various facilities throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Arthenia was known for her beautiful poetry and infectious smile. She loved spending time with her family and friends, singing in the church choir, as well spreading love, laughter, telling stories and sharing the word of God. Her motto was, “Don’t Mess with the 5.”
Sis Arthenia was preceded in death by: her son, Baby Sebastian; parents, Rev. Arthur Lee Brinson and Sis. Marjorie James; nephew, Korey Beasley; and niece, Lashunda Reed.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Ronald Stokes, Tory Brinson, Toneisha Blair, Darien Washington (Francesca), and April Lewis; grandchildren, Ronald Jr., Che‘Toria, Latoria, Tory Jr, Chrissanay, Christopher, Kehlani, Damarion, Christina, Kylah, and Preston Jr.; great-grand-daughter, Leilani; sisters, Lashunda James, Lalena Brinson, Anntoinette Archer (Tom), and Toni Archer-Reed (Dwight); brother, Darryl Brinson (Debbie); and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, godchildren and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
