On Monday, October 14, 2024, our beloved Gloria Durant, attended by angels and the Presence of her Lord and Savior, transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at The Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610 with Pastor Sayida Bateman, Officiating; Pastor Ida Jordan, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Gloria Durant attended Howard W. Blake Jr. High School and then Robinson High School. After high school, she began working at National Linen as a Seamstress. She later worked as a Private Home Care Nurse, finally retiring from Tampa General Hospital.
Gloria was a devoted servant of God. She was known throughout Tampa for her inspiring singing, she ministered in several churches. As a faithful member of The Glory Team Reach Out and Touch Ministry, Evangelist Gloria served as a dedicated Evangelist and Musician.
Gloria is preceded in death by: her mother, Ethel M. Johnson Wilson; brothers, Charles Wilson, Alphonso Durant, and Willie Durant; and sister, Retha Durant-Williams, all of Tampa, FL.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Pamela Wright-Smiley, and David A. Reeves Jr.; grandchildren, Kyerra M. Solomon, and Zion E. Scott, all of Tampa, FL; and siblings, Emmitt Wilson Sr. (Frances), Eddie Durant Sr. (Teresa), Early Hicks (Terry Sr.), Earl J. Smith Sr., Tampa, FL, Alfair Durant, Esau Durant Jr., Darryl Durant, Suzette Durant, Brenda Durant, Antonio Durant Sr., and Michael Durant, Gainesville, FL.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
