Ms. Loretta Geneva Dean

Ms. Loretta Geneva Dean was born on August 17, 1958, in Tampa, Florida to the late George and Frankie Dean. Loretta was the third of six children born to this union. She was educated in the Hillsborough County Public Schools, graduating from Leto High School in 1976. She continued her education at Hillsborough Community College, receiving her A.A. degree. She worked as an Audio Specialist for the Special Needs Hearing Impaired Department with Hillsborough County School System, retiring after 31 years of dedicated service. She cared deeply for each of her students and continued to follow their progress into adulthood. Loretta also worked part-time at Montgomery Wards and JC Penney’s. She was the perfect example of the fashions she sold, always dressed to the ‘nines’ and well put together. Loretta took great pride in helping customers to reflect their best appearance and her passion for style was only matched by her love of food. Loretta was a connoisseur of food and loved for you to enjoy the foods she loved. If she heard you talking about a particular food or restaurant, Loretta would visit that restaurant and you could soon expect a food delivery, as a thanks for the recommendation. She had a particular fondness for sweets…. Loretta never met a cake or pie she didn’t like!! Once an avid walker, you would find Loretta at one of the area parks - Rowlett, Horizon, or MacFarlane Park and also the old Middleton High track, walking over 5 miles daily. She could walk and talk the whole time, and you better keep pace or get left behind. Loretta was a people person, always ready to share God’s love with her fellow man or woman. She could strike up a conversation with a stranger and end with a friend, leaving behind the most positive impression. She was well-loved and respected by her neighbors. As a longtime resident, she would greet new neighbors on the block. Loretta loved her home and took great pride in welcoming folks into it. Loretta never missed the opportunity to tell and show her love for her family and friends. She was unselfish, giving of her time and gifts, but expecting nothing in return. It was not uncommon to receive an unannounced Amazon delivery, containing something you may have mentioned to Loretta. She remembered what was important to others. Bringing joy to others was Loretta’s number one goal in life. Loretta’s greatest joy was the time spent with her nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, always being present in their lives, showering them with love and guidance, that only ‘TiTi’ could provide. Upon retirement, Loretta would spend her time with her mother, taking her to appointments, shopping, walking, fishing, thrifting, and reading Scripture. Family get-togethers were always a favorite of Loretta’s, laughing and sharing good times. Loretta would tell you to cherish your loved ones and always tell them how much you love them.
