Ms. Mable “Marie” Stevens of Tampa, Fl., passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, 2:00 pm at Exciting Faith Alive Baptist Church, 5705 E. 32nd Avenue, Tampa, FL 33619 with Pastor Dr. Antonio J. Hawkins, Officiant/Eulogist. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Fl 33610.
Mable “Marie” Stevens was born on June 5, 1953, in Tampa. She graduated from Tampa Bay Technical High School in 1973 and went on to attend Florida Memorial College in Miami, Florida where she studied drafting and design. She also attended The International College of Fashion Design And received certification in fashion construction, design and was awarded the top design honors, she was also a licensed barber and cosmetologist.
“Marie” accepted Christ as her savior early in life. She was a lifelong entrepreneur, owning multiple businesses in the fashion designing, styling, crafting and artistic industry. Marie designed and crafted fashionable clothing, created creative costumes and designs that were used in her local fashion shows and on a national stage with the world-renowned Michael Matthew’s stage plays, with whom she traveled all over the country; she also designed stage sets and costumes for movie stars. Marie was also a well-sought-to-do model, fashion designer, interior decorator, and fashion show choreographer. Marie owned her own beauty and barber salon keeping the who is who clients of Tampa Bay cool and stylish. Marie positively impacted so many lives. She exuded class, confidence, and style at all times, while teaching others the importance of the power of God, self confidence, self esteem, and how to command excellence in all things. Marie was an outstanding, loving, nurturing daughter, a mother who loved her son beyond words, and a loving wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, family member, community leader and friend. She left an encouraging legacy of Love and remarkable style to everyone who met her.
Marie was preceded in death by: her father and mother, Tommie Lee and Mable Ball; her former husband, Lonnie Tingle Sr.; brothers, Thomas and Calvin Ball; and sister, Wanda Ball.
She leaves cherished memories behind in the hearts of: her beloved only son, Lonnie ( Latarsus )Tingle Jr.; grandchildren, Lonnie III, Kamree, LaTiana, Khalil, Kaury Tingle, and Kaileigh Smith; great granddaughter, Erynn Best Marie; she also leaves a legacy of love in the hearts of her loving family, siblings, Maudella Ball, Apostle Cynthia Forde (Atlanta, Ga.), Jarvis Ball, Felicia Ball, and Josalyn (Lewis) Galloway; aunts and uncles, Lena (Carl) Regis, Bobby Moore, Albert Moore, Daniel (Earlene)Moore, Brenda (Horace) Donald, Elease Moore, Christine Moore, Mary Moore, Sharon Canady, and Melinda Hayes; a former brother-in-law, Elmo Forde; nieces and nephews, Derrick Ball, Tarvi Smith, Cedric Ball, Tapeka, Miller, Tamara (Latoya) Ball, Tavia (Ralph) Tate, Damion (Robin) Hunt, Clenden Ball, Jarvis Ball Jr., Jeremiah Broomsfield, Delta Mullins, Jamiah Watson, Alvisha Miller, Mario Williams, Marlon Willams, Jaquan Ball, Mijuan Ball, Keon Ball, Vinshaun Scott, Ashley Williams, and Arica Loango; and a host of sorrowful extended family members and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
