Ms. Mattie Williams

Ms. Mattie Williams of Tampa, FL, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, 9:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.

Mattie Williams was a native of Clearwater, FL, and a resident of Tampa, FL for 60 years.  She was born on September 13, 1947, to Jesse and Mary Head. Mattie graduated from Pinellas High School.  She retired from the City of Tampa and worked as the church clerk at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church until recently.

She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Flesehia Williams; her parents, Jesse and Mary Head; and her sister, Mary Lee.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Alesehia Williams; grandchildren, Shaniqua Grant, Keieon Showers, Kaishon Showers, Abi’ya Wright, Ani’ya Wright, and Aiden Hunter; great-grandchildren Zy’ere Broner, Zyla Young, and Zakari Young; sisters, Martha (Calvin) Mitchell, Harriett Head, and Debra Williams; brothers, Jesse (Justine) Head and Bobby Head; sister-in-law, Debra Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 09, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
