Ms. Mildred McLeod Johnson of Tampa, FL, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 11:00 am at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel with Pastor Coller Fagin, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610. The family is requesting all family and friends meet at the Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Ave. Tampa, FL 33606.
Mildred McLeod Johnson, born on February 6, 1926, in Tampa, FL. Mildred was a lifelong resident of the city and a graduate of the Hillsborough County public school system. Mildred had a long career in the retail industry, where she worked at Dillard’s department store for many years before retiring.
Mildred was preceded in death by: her children, Thelma “Dee Dee” Johnson, Valarie Johnson, Arthur “Butch” Johnson, and Cynthia “Pat” Johnson; parents, Tom and Florena McLeod; and siblings, Dorthy David, and Rudolph McLeod.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Brenda Williams (James “Popa”), and Sandra P. Wilson (Greensboro, NC); grandchildren, Jacquline Sampson, Douglas Wilder (Atlanta, GA), Valarie Rolle, Janice Ward (Eddie), SirMawn Wilson (Heather, Greensboro, NC), Olivia Brooks, Lashawna Johnson (Howard), Kerib Johnson, Nicole Johnson, and James Jackson; grandchildren in love, Victoria Collins, and Virgil Huggins; great-grandchildren, Eddie Ward, Essence Malveau, Jae-Nikko Owens, Jadon Rolle, Dana Wilson (Greensboro, NC), India Wilson (Greensboro, NC), Zaire Harvin, Zaniyah Collins, and Virgil “Ollie” Huggins, Jr.; and great-great grandchild, Eddie Ward Jr.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
