Ms. Minnie Howard

Ms. Minnie Howard of Tampa, FL passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 3518 E. 9th Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605 with Pastor James Richardson, Officiating. The interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea Street, Tampa, FL 33610.

Minnie Howard was born on August 17, 1944, to the late David Brown (Willie Mae Brown) and Josephine Allen in Tampa, FL. She was a long-time resident of Tampa, FL. She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County. She was employed at Tampa General Hospital as a Pediatric Clerk, where she retired in February 2011.

Minnie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of True Love Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. She served under the pastoral ship of Rev. W.T. Carpenter and Rev. James Richardson.  Minnie served on several ministries such as President of the Mission Board, Tuesday Prayer Service, and as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a faithful member until her illness.

Minnie was preceded in death by: her son, Bernard J. Scott Jr.; and brother, Jerry Howard.

She leaves to cherish fond memories with: one daughter, Terri Russell; 3 sons, Steven Scott Sr., David Scott, and Robert Simmons Jr.; 3 Goddaughters, Jackie Gay, Sheila Blanton, and Aniessia Brown; long-time caregiver and granddaughter, LaToya Parks; 30 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Johnson; special friends, Holle Volle, Willette Jackson, Ollie Sharpe, Erma Philon, and Dante Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
