Ms. Nothela Levorn “No No” Walker of West Tampa, FL, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 4008 E. Cayuga Street, Tampa, FL 33610, with Dr. Antonio R. Hawkins, Pastor of Exciting Faith Alive Church, Tampa, FL, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Tampa, FL 33610.
Nothela Levorn Walker burst on the scene August 4, 1977, like a bright and brilliant ray of sunshine. Her parents Ennis Walker, Jr. and Althea Levorn Wiggins Walker welcomed her bubbling vibrant personality into the world to join her older sisters Tonya, Dina, and Angela/Angie. When brother Aquarius was born Nothela finally became the big sister in her own right and took her role seriously to guide and support him.
Nothela attended Hillsborough County Public Schools. As teenagers, Nothela and Anthony Rhynes, Sr., met and fell deeply in love with one another. This union stood the test of time. Together they shared love, life, and a house they turned into a great home to raise their family. They produced three beautiful children: Anthony “Suge” Rhynes, Jr., Anthonisha “MaMa” Rhynes, and Antonio Rhynes.
Anyone who met Nothela, family, friends, or strangers knew there was something special about her. She had a natural comedic sense of humor. She told the truth with such boldness and honesty that it made her seem so much wiser than her young years. She knew how to listen so that people felt heard. That’s a special gift to have the ability to help others on their life journeys and do it with kindness and sincerity, all while being fun-loving.
As Nothela fought a long illness, she showed a different type of strength. One that many times made her cry out to the Lord. Even when she was in a great deal of pain, when her body hurt, she still managed to offer hope and encouragement to others. Nothela believed in the Lord. She was a woman of faith and a member of Exciting Faith Alive Church, where her faith deepened under Pastor Antonio Hawkins. At several points when pain made her weak, Pastor Hawkins ministered to Nothela’s spirit. She told her sister Tonya that even though the pain was often unbearable, she still endured. Even though she had been afraid, in the end, she found peace that surpassed her circumstances. She found the ability to turn fear into faith. She fought a good fight, and she believed that somehow her time here on earth had purpose and meaning. To us who knew her, she was a bearer of joy, laughter, and a kind of beloved humor that made us all the better for having known her.
