Patricia was born on December 25, 1950, in Tampa, Florida, to Robert and Irene Young. She remained in her beloved hometown until her peaceful transition on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Patricia was educated in Hillsborough County Schools.
Our beloved Patricia was a faithful member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, where she also served diligently on the Usher Board until her health began to fail. She was a down-to-earth woman who truly enjoyed communicating and spending meaningful time with her family and friends. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, and her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.
Patricia dedicated many years to environmental services until a decline in her health led to her early retirement.
Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She deeply loved her family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. She also shared a special bond with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and the many friends and neighbors in the Wimauma community, where she was well known and dearly loved. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Robert and Irene Young; and her brothers, Johnny Young and Eddie Lee Young.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her three sons, Darryl Young (Monica), Eric Young, and Willie Cooper Jr. (Demetrial); her loving siblings, Retha Brown, Christine Young, Joyce Mathurin, Lois Young, and Charlie Young; sister-in-law, Mary Young; grandkids, Nia Lebron (Miguel), Eric Young Jr. II, Tamren Young, Terrill McNeill (Rebecca), Por’che Daniels, Myiah Cooper, Willie Cooper III (Danielle), Darryl Young Jr. (Karolyn), Preston Young (Jasmine), Christina Barber (Jay), Por’che Stewart (Cemon), Walter Young and Adella Barber (Walter); great grands, Terrill McNeil Jr., Kaylona McNeill, Kayson McGruder, Tiana Daniels, TaNyiah McNeil, Nevaeh Lebron, Amara Lebron, Lillian Lebron, Ariella Young, Eric Young Jr. III, Paisley Young, Ki’Andre Young, Grayling Young, Levi Young, Kylah Young, Preston Young Jr., Roial Young, Jacob Nunez, Kiera Nunez, Julius Nunez, Dae’Saun Barber, E’mani Lugo, Frederick Barlow Jr., and Truth Barlow; special nephew, Alexander Young; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special cousin, Emma Freeman; devoted friends, Geneiva Nelson, Inell Berrien and Stephanie Mejia; special friends, Willette and Frederick Holbert; extended family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout the Wimauma community.
Patricia’s life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and quiet strength. Her greatest treasures were her family, and the love she shared will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her. While our hearts grieve her passing, we rejoice in knowing that she is resting peacefully in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of compassion, service, and unconditional love will live on for generations to come.
