Phyllis Elaine Hardge was born in Clearwater, FL, on June 29, 1957, to the late Samuel Bobby Cobbs and Rutha Mae Wallace (Williams). She was a devoted mother, friend, and sister who cherished life. Phyllis graduated from Largo High School in January of 1976 in Pinellas County and attended Saint Petersburg Junior College briefly. She was amazingly smart and intelligent, and aspired to become an attorney in her early years. Phyllis worked for Pinellas County Clerk of the Court Traffic Division for many years, relocating to Tampa, FL in the late 80s.
Phyllis was known for her willingness to help others and her contagious laugh and smile. She loved having a good time and was the life of the party. She loved nature, the antique road show, baking, writing, and doing crossword puzzles. Her absolute favorite thing to do was watch Animal Planet and National Geographic with the monkeys and lions; always wanting to volunteer at the Big Cat Sanctuary, with a dream to one day go on a safari to Africa to see all the different animals; but would settle for her a good cruise in the meantime. Her greatest joy was her daughter. She loved the Lord, and her strength, love and faith was unmatched.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Samuel Bobby Cobbs and Rutha Mae Wallace (Williams), and Albert Williams (Stepfather); Maternal grandparents, Harrison and Alberta Wallace; and Paternal Grandparents, Marie Patterson (Checkerboard).
She leaves to cherish: her beloved daughter, Cicely Green; Five brothers, Ivan Cobbs, Lamonte Jeffrey Cobbs Sr., Kevin Cobbs, Christopher Williams, and Bruce Williams; Aunt, Louise Smith; (4) Great Godchildren, Adrian Brock, Ty’Rique Brock, Symaiya Tucker, and Ty’Driana Attiz-Brock; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
Arrangements entrusted to Ray Williams Funeral Home, Rhodes & Northern, Owners.
