Ms. Sharon Denise Promise

Sharon Denise Promise of Tampa, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Rev. Nelson Shellman Jr., Officiating.

Sharon Denise Promise was born on February 27, 1960, to the late Gertrude and Sidney Promise in Tampa, Florida. Sharon was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and cousin. She passed away in a local hospital due to cardiac arrest. She attended Leto High School. Sharon worked as a domestic at Amalie Arena. Sharon loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her friends. Sharon was resilient and gave her life to Christ.  Her life was a vessel to reflect God’s unconditional love to all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Gertrude and Sidney Promise; maternal grandmother, Mamie Lou Simmons; maternal grandfather, Frank Johnson; and sister, Gloria Ann Smalls. Sharon will be laid to rest next to her beloved sister.

She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories: Her children, Karleshia Dorsey (Jammal) of Waldorf, Maryland, Marquise Davis (Erica), of Ruskin, Florida, Brittany Promise of Tampa, Florida, and Jasmine Capers of Rincon, Georgia; sister, Minnie Mitchell (Dan) of Tampa, Florida; 11 grandchildren, Nya Dorsey, Kaelyn Dorsey, Gabriel Davis, Willie Bass Jr., Kha’Mari Bass, Gregory Harden III, Zay’Vion Harden, Rashad Grant, Zayden Grant, Jaid Capers, and Jiselle Capers; nieces, Yulanda Shellman (Nelson) and Vicotria Montgomery (Edward); nephews, Clarence Smalls (Nancy), Leon Smith (Sheila), and Ivory Johnson; 19 grand nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
