Ms. Sheryl Fennell Obituary

On Thursday, February 27, 2025, God in His infinite wisdom called Sister Sheryl Anita Greaux Fennell from labor to reward. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Tampa, FL 33610 with Rev. Larry L. Roundtree II, Officiant/Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

The daughter of the late Norman and Dorothy Greaux, Sheryl was born on November 17, 1948, in Tampa, Florida where at an early age she gave her life to God. Sheryl was a member of the New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church family under the leadership of Rev. Larry L. Roundtree II. When her health began to decline, she was unable to physically attend church. She loved the Lord and faithfully watched church services each Sunday via You-Tube.

Sheryl was educated in Hillsborough County Public Schools and a graduate of Middleton Senior High School class of 1966.  She was a life-long member of the NAACP. Sheryl’s work ethics were phenomenal. She started working at an early age. Her work career included positions with Honeywell International, Moses White Barbeque, Winn-Dixie and Hillsborough County. Sheryl retired from the Hillsborough County Tax Collector Office in 2015.

A portrait of style and grace, Sheryl was chic, fashionable, and always well-dressed. She was kind, caring, confident and the most personable human being one would ever meet.

Sheryl was preceded in death by: her parents, Norman and Dorothy Greaux; brothers, Norman (Ricky) Greaux, and Kervis Greaux; sister, Felecia Greaux; grandparents, Lonnie and Nancy Dixon; and uncle, Herbert Dixon.

Sheryl leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life: her loving, caring and devoted son, Robert Fennell III; loving sister, Stephanie Shelby; brother, Laird Greaux Sr.; grandchildren, Robert Johnson, and Kensington Fennell; great grandchildren, Javion Johnson, Jamari Johnson, Jeloni Johnson, and Jade-Marie Johnson; nephews, Terrick Ransom (Tyshiro), Laird Greaux II, Dominique Greaux, Terrick Ransom II, Terek Ransom, Kivaughn Greaux, Josiah Ransom, and Cornelius Gallons Jr.; nieces, Akia Greaux, Keisha Greaux, Tyla Ransom, Kiavia Dorothy Greaux, and Gia Ransom; cousins Lamont and Joe Burgess, Pamela and Ceceilia Lesmond; devoted friends, Vaular Deen Rouse, Connie Finger, Catrina Goodman, Sonya Williams, Beverly Webb, Barbara Wright, Susie Diaz, Bobby Fennell, Len Vernon, Michael Trigg, and Derrick Murphy; and a host of other cousins and friends.
