Ms. Tameka Rene Wimbush, known to her family and friends as "Meka," of Tampa, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 4615 E. Hanna, Tampa, FL 33610, with Elder Kimberly Kitchen, Officiating.
Tameka Rene Wimbush, born on March 6, 1987, in Dade City, Florida, spent most of her life in Tampa. She will be fondly remembered as a loving daughter, mother, sister, friend, and beacon of light to all who knew her. Family was her priority, and she was a wonderful mother to her children. In her free time, she enjoyed working, spending quality time with her children and family, and mentoring and inspiring the youth. Tameka graduated from Brandon High School and had a Heart of Gold, always ready to help others and provide for those in need.
She was preceded in death by: her first child, Larry Lee Danzey, III; her grandmother, Ophelia Graham; her grandfather, Walter Kelly Jr.; and her brother, Laronald Wimbush Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her 4 Children, Larry Danzey, IV, Larriona Danzey, Larryon Danzey and Lebron Danzey; her loving mother, Mary Alice Wimbush; father, Walter Kelly; grandmother, Betty Kelly; siblings, Telisha Kelly (Marlon), Katrina Wimbush, Walter Wimbush, and Terrell Wimbush; a host of family, Larry Lee Danzey Sr., Tootie, Mookey, Pokey, Bam, Nate, Gerald Kelly, Michelle Livingston, Diane Kelly, Cynthia Kelly, Fredrick Bogan, Cedrick Bogan, Cedryanna Williams, Shankeyia Hernandez, Anthony Clarke, Nakeyia Clarke, Jakeyia Dixon, Davion Giles, Daviana Giles, Tequila Rayford, Eugene Rayford, Elijah Murray, Jasmine Russ, Yasmine Russ, Shajuana Kitchen, Tiffany Danzey, Yasmine Danzey, Shayla Ladouceur, Kayla Ladouceur, Stranesha Thomas, Onnie Jones, Shamika Danzey, Felicia Danzey, Osias Ladouceur, and Cody Grambrelle; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, Moffitt Cancer Center, Middleton High School and Family, Sligh Middle School and Family, and devoted childhood friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
