Mr. Nathaniel Washington Sr., 82 of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, November 21, at 11 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Elder Frank O. Gray Sr., officiating. Interment will be held Monday, November 23 at 1 p.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511. Due to COVID, the family is requesting that you pay your final respects during visitation on Friday. Please follow the CDC guidelines and wear a mask.
Nathaniel was born to the parentage of Zetha Mae Washington in High Springs, FL. He attended the public school of Alachua County and matriculated to the United States Army. He retired after 34 years of service from the University of South Florida as a Supervisor of Custodial Operations.
Nate was preceded in death by: his mother, Zetha Mae Washington; grandmother, Annie Lou ”Dear” Price; daughter, Yvette Washington; son, Dywan “Man” Washington; mother-in-law, Hazel Armwood Orsley; father-in-law, Burney Orsley; and aunt, Elsie McLauren.
His memories will be cherished forever by: his wife and caregiver, Bernadette Orsley-Washington; daughters, Karen Washington-Woodson, Kimberlyn Davis (Patrick PC), and Nicci Harris (Duke); son, Nathaniel Washington Jr. (Tersita); grandchildren, Antonio Washington, Tyrone Taylor, Sharone Taylor, Nathaniel Washington III, Dywan Washington Jr., Darrius Washington, Jamarl Alford, Arthur Polite (Keona), Tiffany Moore, Jasmine Wood, Trevarus Albury (Latoya), Jamarcus Gray (Keirra), SSgt. Sadreal Robinson (SSG.Leon Robinson), Zandreal Smith (PO2 Taylor Smith), Raven (Arthur), Patrick Jr. (Susan), Desire and Darius Davis, DuQuavia and Duke Harris, and Alexis Thomas; 29 great-grands; brother, Ben Washington (Hazel); daughter-in-law, Latheria Washington; aunts, Vandella Durr, High Springs, FL, Blondie Hickmon, Gainesville, FL, Sandra Price, Lake City, FL, and Mary Price, High Spring, FL; uncles, Cedric Price, High Spring, FL, Ronnie (Margaret) Price, Roger (Doretha) Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Friday, November 20 at Ray Williams Funeral Home. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
