Mr. Odis C. Laster passed away Monday, April 11th, 2022. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23rd, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Ave., Tampa, FL with Pastor Isiah J. Williams, Sr., officiating.
Mr. Laster was born in Amsterdam, Georgia on September 12, 1948, to Earnest and Rosa Mae Laster. He was raised in Tampa, Florida and was the fifth oldest of eleven children. He was educated in the Hillsborough County Public Schools system. Upon graduating from Blake High School, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed at Alsco Linen & Uniform Rental Services for 37 years. He began his employment at Alsco in 1981 and retired in 2018. Odis enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to country music.
He preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Catherine Laster, Rudine Sims, and Rosa Burrow; two brothers, Willie C. Laster, and Earnest Lee Laster; sister-in-law, Wanda Lemons; brothers-in-law, Fred Sims, Sr., and Elder George Jackson, Sr.; three nieces, Corrima Albury, Priscilla Sims, and Erica Laster; two nephews, Malcolm Laster, and Eugene Laster; one great nephew, Anthony Williams; one great-great niece, Corrina Albury; and one great, great nephew, Jalen Puryear.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Earnestine White (Eugene), Lillian Jones (Rudy), and Linda Williams (Pastor Isiah Williams, Sr.); brothers, Curtis Lemons, Jr. and Jerry Laster (Renee) all of Tampa, brother in law, Deacon Bobby Burrow of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Laster of Pittsburg, PA; two aunts, Ms. Nettie Mae Harris of Attapulgus, GA and Ms. Bernice Brown of Knightdale, NC, and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and close friends who loved and cared about him dearly.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. MASK RECOMMENDED.
