Ms. Pamela Delores James of Odessa, FL passed away Monday, March 2, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 14, at 11a.m. at Mt. Pleasant M. B. Church, 2002 N. Rome Ave., with Reverend Dr. C.T. Kirkland, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Pamela was a native of Hillsborough County and a resident of Tampa for 53 years. She was educated by the public schools of Hillsborough County, and furthered her education with the University of South Florida earning a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Florida State University where she earned a Master’s degree in Social Work. Pamela was a member of the Alpha Chapter Phi Alpha Honor Society and graduated Cum Laude.
She converted at an early age and became a member of Mt. Pleasant M. B. Church under the Pastorate of Reverend Dr. C.T. Kirkland. Pamela was employed with the State of Florida and the School District of Hillsborough County.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Delores June James; brother, Alvin James; grandparents, Willie Mae Leonard, James Tate, Fannie Mae James and Andrew James; aunts, Violet Campbell, Ruth Carswell, Ruby Smith, Betty Lou Stanley, Nettie Faye James, Marjorie Archer, Helen Jones, Ernestine James, and Barbara Turner; and uncles, Albert Turner, Willie B. James, Robert Lee James, Melvin James, and Andrew James.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted father, Talmadge James; a loving and devoted sister, Tamara Cox; a loving and devoted brother-in-law, George Cox III; loving and devoted nephew, Nyen Clark, all of Tampa, FL; step-nieces, Danielle, Georgetta, and Georgina Cox; aunts, Juanita McCloud, Cassandra James, and Pearl James; uncles, Nathaniel James and Wilson James; God-mothers, Renaye Gooding and Lizzie Johnson; God-sisters, Linda Johnson and Michelle Johnson; God-brother, James Jones (Gina); special cousins, Althea McCorkle (OH), Beverly Footman, Tony Carswell (Patrice), Carlton, Barbara, Beverly, Bobby, Charlie, Darlene, Henry (Donnette), Michelle, Katrease, Natoya, Harriett, Sally Smith, and Mattie (Robert); longtime faithful friends, Rhonda Keith, Ada Dunbar, and Tia McCoy; Caring family friends, Liz Rushing, Ella Mae Williams, and Nellie West; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
