Pastor Ruby Nell Baker of Lutz, FL passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. A Graveside Service will follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Ruby Nell Baker was a native of Dublin, Georgia, and a resident of Tampa, FL for 63 years. She attended Laurens County Schools and was one of the founders of the Church of the Living God Gateway to Heaven. She pastored alongside Co-Pastor, Lola Barnhill, and was assisted by her niece and armor bearer, Deaconess Ann Jackson. She later retired from Hillsborough County Schools.
She was preceded in death by: her sons, Malachi Baker Sr. and Monroe Graham; father, Malachi Baker; mother, Tama Baker; sisters, Pearlie Mae Chapman, Jennie Anderson, Patsy Rawls, Louise Pierce, and Dolshia Corbett; Granddaughter, Katina Graham; Grandsons, Carlton Baker, and Kwame Baker.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, John Graham; grandchildren, Monique Little, Carolyn Baker, Malachi Baker Jr. (Dominique), Ronald Baker, Malcolm Baker (Regina), Cedric Harris (June), Stephanie Butler, Gregory Baker, Judge Torri TJ Hudson, Timothy Baker, Matthew Baker, Phelan Little (Dion), April Bivens, Tramel Bivens, Manette Graham, Monroe Graham Jr., Charles Graham (Ebony), Felicia Graham, Tamicia Graham-Fennell (Rodney), Taquandra Baker, Tawana Baker, and Shavon Graham; great-grandchildren (grandmother of 5 generations); special neighbors, Pee Wee, and Jerry and Lenora Russell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
