Mrs. Pearl Ethel Taylor passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. MASK RECOMMENDED.
Mrs. Pearl was born in Havana, FL on July 10th, 1934, to the late Dan Hayes and Rose Lee Jones. She was the oldest of 4 children. At the age of 16, She married Turner Fain Jr. and were blessed with 4 children. Pearl and Turner migrated to Palm Bay where she cleaned homes to help provide for her family. Pearl eventually moved with her 3 kids to Tampa, FL where her dad, sister and younger brother lived. Pearl decided that in order to provide a better life for her family, she went to nursing school and obtained her CNA license. She worked for the Home Association for 26 years, caring for elderly patients. As a single mother on limited means, Pearl was able to buy a home in West Tampa, FL where her children knew they could always come, and her grandchildren spent many summers. All of them knew that Mama/Grandma's house would always be "home” because she had made it so.
She was preceded in death by: her mom, Rose Lee; first born, Alfred Turner Fain; first husband, Turner Fain Jr.; dad, Dan Hayes; husband, Jerry Taylor; sister, Airdean Shepherd; and grandson, Tommy Lee Hill Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her three children, Gwen Duggins (Albert), Deborah Scott, and Ronald Fain; her grandchildren, Felicia Spearman (Baron), Crystal Crawford (Lance), and Latasha Duggins; brothers, Dan Hayes Jr., and Earl Hayes; nieces, Rose Gardner, Judy Spicer (Alfonso), and Abigail Willis (Horace); and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
The family would like to give special thanks to Danae “Dee” Holland, Pearl's primary caretaker for over a year and a half.
The visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 08, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. MASK RECOMMENDED.
