Mr. Reginald Alonzo Edwards of Tampa, Florida, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020. A Celebration of Life and Love will be held Saturday, July 11, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street, with Pastor T. D. Leonard, Pastor officiating and Eulogist. Please follow the CDC guidelines.
Mr. Reginald Alonzo Edwards was a native Floridian, residing in Tampa for 55 years. He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Henry B. Plant High School, Class of 1984. He continued his education at Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS. Reginald was an offensive tackle for the Plant Panthers and for Hinds College.
When Reginald returned to Tampa, he was employed by State Vacuum of Tampa, Inc. for over 30 years. His dedication and knowledge of his job made him a valuable associate to the State Vacuum family. The late Mr. Bernie Epstein considered him as a “son,” while David Epstein called him “brother.” He was certainly part of a genuinely loving family.
Mr. Edwards met and married Tracy Handy. Together, they raised their sons and grands in reverence to God; they were faithful members of Mt. Tabor M. B. Church.
Cherished memories will be celebrated by so many: to include: his devoted wife, Tracy; their two sons, Joseph James Handy III (Michelle) and Jerin Christopher Handy (Toni); his loving parents, mother, Blossie M. Edwards and father, Earl (Janice) Edwards; sisters, Sandi (Blaine) Ringham and Brandi Edwards; his brothers, Gavin (Elle) Edwards and Damien (Katelyn) Edwards; grands, Jaslene Handy, Skylah Pajotte, and Faith Parham; like a grand, Anijah Tillman; mother-in-law, Ethel Scott; father-in-law, Bernard (Anita) Scott; brother-in-law, Gerard Scott; sister-in-law, Donna Scott; nephews, Romello and Steven Scott, and Joshua John Edwards; nieces, Deikourtney (Bryant) Hugins, Jshonna Aydelotte and Maya Nicole Edwards; great-aunt, Elizabeth Davis; cousins, Jeanette (Harold) Alexander-Haslem, Rosetta (Sam) Cleggett, Rosco Crawford, Gregory (Abigail) Crawford and Anthony Davis; his best friend and like a brother, Derrick Worrels; special “daughters,” Dalia (Sean) Medina-Pajotte and Nika (Ralph) Brockington; as well as a host of dear family and close friends.
