Rev. Earnest Thomas Washington

Graveside services for Rev. Earnest Washington, of Tampa, FL will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Rest Haven Cemetery, 4615 E Hanna Ave, Tampa, FL 33610. Rev. Ricky Pierce will be officiating.

Rev. Washington was born August 1, 1940, in Perry, FL.  He moved to Tampa and began his ministry of evangelizing souls for God’s kingdom on highways and byways. Rev. Washington was called to pastor the New Bright and Morning Star, and then New Rising Star Missionary Baptist churches of Tampa.

Rev. Washington was a staple in the Tampa Bay Area- blessing and serving his community!

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 42 years, Mrs. Margret Washington; his son, Earnest Washington, Jr.; daughter, Rachael Washington along with stepchildren: Joni Williams and Michael Francis; siblings: Eugene (Mae) Stewart, of Perry, FL, Lonzer (Annie Lee) Stewart of St. Petersburg, FL, Nobie (Willie C) Roberts of Perry FL, Jessie L. (Penny) Hawkins of Tallahassee, FL, and Mitchel (Mary) Hawkins, Lue J. Roberts, and Carrie Hansberry all of Perry, FL.  

Many other family members – including a host of grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, and community friends will truly miss Rev. Washington.

The viewing will be Friday, June 12, 2021, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Ave, Tampa, FL 33606 from 4pm to 7pm.  MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
