Reverend Carl Antonio Walcott passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at North Tampa Christian Fellowship, 206 W. 131st Avenue, Tampa, FL 33612, with Reverend Roy Williams, Officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Carl Antonio Walcott was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on January 18, 1951, to Dennis Walcott and Vernice Reid. ‘How are you?’ ‘Better than you, man.’ That is the answer he would give to everyone and today he has exceeded that; he is immeasurably better than us and waiting for us to join him.
He grew up in Kingston and was very serious about his education, graduating from Kingston Technical High School. However, regardless of whether he was playing soccer, cricket or dominoes there was no shortage of skylarking.
Working from a young age, Carl cultivated a vast network of friends and connections that would prove invaluable in his life. A true Jamaican, Carl was a man of many talents and master of a few, from “forming the fool” to home improvement, computer programming, Associate Pastor of College Hill Mennonite Church, Pastor of North Tampa Christian Fellowship Church, doing for others as much as his heart would allow, and always more than his wallet would. He was the kind of man who would willingly give you the shirt off his back and every cent in his pocket.
Mr. Wally garnered the attention of Ms. Annette Thomas in 1973 and the two became one on July 16, 1977. To the joy of his mother-in-law, he devoted his life to the Lord in 1980. Carl touched the lives of many as a friend, colleague, uncle, counselor, father, professor in the pulpit and Pastor.
While we mourn his physical absence, we just need to think back on our times with him as his teachings, unique perspective, care and love are ingrained in all of our lives. Go with his blessing and as he would say, ‘Go with God, make some good money and make sure you save!’
He is survived by: his wife, Annette; children, Devon, Jacynth, Roann, and Shari; grandchildren, Antonio, Timea, Jayden, Treyshaun, and Devontae; brothers, Junior, and Oliver; sisters, Bonnie Lynn, Patricia, and Carmen and a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at North Tampa Christian Fellowship, 206 W. 131st Avenue, Tampa, FL 33612.
