Robert Trotman, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Robert L. Trotman, Sr., (aka “Bobby/Bread”) passed away on Friday, February 14 th, 2020. There will be two services.  On Friday, February 21, a Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall East, 3804 Danny Bryan Blvd., Tampa, FL 33619 with Bro. Robert Robertson, Chairman. On Saturday, February 22, a Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Rev. Aubrey Hodges, officiating.  

Mr. Trotman was native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida, born on August 17, 1949 to John and Mozelle Trotman. He attended schools of Hillsborough County and is a graduate of Middleton High School, Class of 1967. After high school, Robert joined the United States Air Force where he traveled to many places serving our country.

Later in life, he changed his religion and converted to be a Jehovah’s Witness. Robert was a member of Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall East Congregation for many years. He was employed as a Childcare Service Specialist for Hillsborough County Children Services where he later retired. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and coin collections. 

Mr. Trotman was preceded in death by: his father, John Ben Trotman, Sr; mother, Mozelle Roberts DeBose; stepfather, Thomas James DeBose; stepmother, Alma Trotman; brother, John Alvin Trotman; mother-in-law, Angelina Ramirez Smith; sister-in-law, Marcia Sumpter Wheeler; brother-in-law, Harmin Shakoor; and nephew, Quintana Trotman. 

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife: Valerie Pittman Trotman; father-in-law, Robert Smith; children, Ranita Lee (Kenneth), Robert Trotman, Jr. (Deidra), Rashad Trotman, and Angela Bowman (Alfredo); Grandchildren, Ronesia, Jessica, Robert III, Zaqueshia, Alaisha, Skye, Eileen, Ramond, Jr., Sirealus, Nylialh, Ameris, Mariah, and Angel; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, LeRoy Trotman (Betty), James DeBose (Celeste), Frank DeBose (Angela), Jerome DeBose, Reginald Smith, Spencer Pittman, John Trotman, Jr., and Billy Trotman; sisters, Mother Helena T. Anderson (Elder Lewis), Margaret Trotman, Vita Weekes, Deborah Waddell, and Wanda DeBose; nieces, Tonia, Dawn Shey (Ricky), Helena (Marcus), Karole (Jack), Jennifer, Mikele, Rasheeda, Alexis, Alison, Farin, Brittany, Briana, Katrina, Bianca, Michelle, Le’Keisha, TaKira, Alicia and Amber; nephews, Dwayne, Jeffrey, John Gerald, Jermaine, Jason, John Arthur, Clarence, Anthony Dezmond, Brandon, Tyrese, and KeShawn; a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, special loved ones and longtime friends, Fred Copeland, Hiawatha Davis, Reggie Tim, Robert Robertson, and Johnny Boykins.

The remains will repose from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ray Williams Funeral Home.
