Ronnie Wimbley Obituary

Mr. Ronnie E. Wimbley of Tampa, Florida passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, June 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Allen Temple AME Church, 2101 N. Lowe Street with Pastor Emeritus Wallace Bowers, officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.  Masks are required.

Ronnie E. Wimbley was born in Tampa, Florida on May 4, 1966. He grew up on the west side of town in Carver City. He attended Hillsborough County Schools and worked in the food industry as a Chef for over 15 years. He was also a devoted member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Wallace Bowers.  You could count on him to be in the kitchen for any occasion, working the food drive pantry or the transportation ministry.

Ronnie was a selfless man full of life, who loved his family and friends dearly. You can guarantee laughter or encounter a smile when he is around. Have you met someone who listened to their oldie goldies, as he would say and only know half of the words? Ronnie could be called on for almost anything. He was also a die-hard Bucs fan - win or lose. To know him, is to love him. He was one of a kind.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Marie McClendon; father, Elbert Wimbley Sr.; uncle; Mitchell Harris and brothers, Elbert Wimbley Jr. and Darrel A. Wimbley.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Seven Kids, Ronnie Ervin (Jarsheequa), Islay Smith (Erika), Sierra Wimbley, Robert Rodriquez, Jennifer Alexander, Alexa Wimbley and Rodger Cowards (Temetris) and his love of 23 years, Carolyn Sibley; seven grandkids, Zahira Ervin, Makayla Ervin, Samari Albury, Jaquavis Cobb, Brook’Lynn Alexander, Rodjnae Cowards and Breonna Cowards; five sisters, Mary Wimbley-Green, Patricia Wimbley-Faulk, Barbara Wimbley-Wright (Calvin), Mildred Wimbley-Russell (Rico) and Althea Wimbley; one brother, Richard (Ricky) Wimbley; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Wimbley and Melanie Wimbley; 37 nieces and nephews, LaToya Wingfield (Tony), LaTonya Williams (Carlos), Gilbert Sandoval, Arthur Redrick, Anthony Redrick, Valerie Williams, Frederick Williams, Carolyn Williams, Deborah Mays (husband), Harold Keebler,  Tina Thomas, Delo Faulk Jr., Nello Faulk, Amanda Faulk (husband), Jessica Wimbley, La’Trena Wimbley, Bridgette Powell (husband), Tasha Crawley (husband), Nekeyla Kinney, Corina Bacon, Cerissa Wimbley, Monica Hatter, Myron Wimbley, Lonnie Bell Jr. (wife), Shaylonnie Bell, Kierra Wimbley, Jarad Wimbley, Artaybius Billingsley, Angela Billingsley-Garrett (James), Calvon Wright, Calvoneisha Wright, Kat-Derron Hannah Jr., Paul Anderson, Ashley Thomas and Anthony Carnegie; many cousins, great nieces, nephews, close friends, Manuel, Jimmy and Cheryl; best friend, Tasha Thomas and Mother in love, Laura Pritchett.
