Mrs. Rosa A. Savage of Odessa, Florida passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Due to the current restrictions from the CDC, the funeral service will be closed to the public. A Private Family service will be conducted, Saturday, April 4 at 4:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Pastor Donald Lott, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Rosa A. Savage was a native of Charleston, South Carolina and a resident of Tampa for 70 years. She was educated in the public schools of Cross, SC. Mrs. Savage retired after 22 years of dedicated service from the School District of Hillsborough County, Food Service Department. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant A. M. E. Church for many years until her health would no longer permit her to attend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmore and Lucinda Anderson; husband, Willie Savage; three brothers, Fred Anderson, Aaron “Sonny” Dingle and Porter W. Anderson; sister, Flossie Ravenell; and nieces and nephews, John Henery Ravenell, Melvenia Moore, Timothy Anderson and Ethel Mae Dennard.
She leaves to cherish her memory: 3 children, Effie Washington (Biological) of Odessa, FL, Lydia B. Anderson of Tampa, FL and Paul Wesley Anderson of Atlanta, GA; 1 sister, Ida Johnson of Tampa, FL; 11 grandchildren, Karen Waters (Craig), Lorraine Washington, Gina W. Langley (Howard), Tiana Harrison (Ben), Monica R. Anderson, Marcia McDuffie, Jamel Anderson, Lynn Anderson, Paulette Anderson, Sharonda Anderson, and Ushonda Anderson; a host of great grandchildren; nieces and nephews - Louiser Harleston (Alphonso), Ruth A. Scott, Rosalyn Robinson (Isaac), Kathy Edwards (Patrick), Patricia Clark, Tracey Williams, Betty Shine (Herbert), Herman Lee Anderson (Donna), Ruby Anderson, Florene Anderson, Anthony Anderson, Queen Elizabeth Haynes, Harry Ravenell, Dorothy Ravenell, Donald Ravenell, Louise Ravenell, Elijah Anderson, Michael Anderson, Michelle Anderson and Aaron Dingle, Jr.; 3 first cousins, Elouise Anderson of Cross, SC, Waymon Prioleau of New Jersey and Calvin Prioleau of Louisiana; a host of other relatives and friends; special friends, Lydia Baptiste, Rosemary Jenkins, Lucille Hall, Carol Scott, Tyrone Harrison, Sandra McArthur, Keith Beckwith and Robert Parkton.
The visitation will be held Friday, April 3, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. Visitation hours have been extended and we are asking family and friends to pay their respects and to follow the CDC guidelines.
