Rubin Padgett, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Rubin Eugene Padgett, Sr. of Tampa passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020.  Due to the current restrictions from the CDC the funeral service will be closed to the public.  A Private Family service will be conducted Saturday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Temple A. M. E. Church, 2101 N. Lowe Street with Reverend Dr. Glenn B. Dames, Sr. Pastor officiating. Please visit www.allentempletampa.org or the Facebook page for Allen Temple AME Church for the opportunity to view service via Live Streaming.   Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Mr. Rubin Eugene Padgett, Sr. was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida.  He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and furthered his education with St. Petersburg Junior College.  Mr. Padgett was the Business Owner of Padgett Nursing Home and he was a member of Pleasant Chapel A. M. E. Church. 

He leaves to cherish many beautiful memories: four sons, Earl Johnson and wife Brenda, James Padgett and Linda, Rubin Padgett, Jr. and Nolan Padgett and wife Sheila; two daughters, Juanita Padgett-Underwood and RaShonda Powe; grandchildren, Earl Johnson II, Jackie Hill, Julian Johnson, Stephanie Johnson, James Padgett, II, Tracy Miller, Mark Padgett, Jonathan Padgett, John Padgett, Tracie Lowe, Ralph Underwood II, Nolan Padgett, Jr. and Cameron Padgett and a host of great grandchildren; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.

The visitation will be held Friday, April 3, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, Tampa, FL 33606.  We are asking family and friends to pay their respects and to follow the CDC guidelines.
