Saundra Masha Gilchrist

Mrs. Saundra Masha-Gilchrist of Tampa, FL passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion AME Church, 7401 S. Kissimmee Street, Tampa, FL 33616 with Rev. James T. Golden, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Mrs. Saundra was a resident of Tampa for 72 years. She attended Hillsborough County Public Schools and Junior College. Saundra was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church, where she participated in Choir #1, Lay Organization, Women Missionary Society, and Stewardess. She was employed as a receptionist at Hampton Inn Hotel.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted daughters, Joye Brown, Wanda Gilchrist, Alicia Gilchrist, Renee “Misty” Thompson, Shemika Soloman (Brayn), Latasha Williams, and Kawanis Gordan (Raheem); sons, Reginald Gilchrist (Velencia), Ronald Gilchrist (Liz), Deacon Roland Gilchrist (Patricia), and Rodnick Boyd (Shadel); like a daughter, Karissa Rodgers; loving granddaughter, Brailey Brown; host of grands, great grands, and great great grands; brother, William F. Masha (Donna); sisters, Sylvia Masha Jefferson (Stan), and Mercedes Masha Jones (Ronald); brother-in-law, Jimmie Lee Gilchrist (Linda); niece, Crystal Starks Williams (Ricky); nephews, Travis Pruor (Victoria), and Ronald “RJ” Jones; extended family, The Brown, King, Welch, Burke, Williams and Glover families; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.  MASK RECOMMENDED.
