Sister Cheryl Gibson Obituary

The life of Sister Cheryl Ann Gibson will be remembered by family and friends on Saturday, January 20, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 5909 Vel Street, Wimauma, FL 33598, Reverend David Mazon - Congress #3 President, Presider, Reverend Ikie Bunton, Pastor, and Eulogist. Interment will follow in Wimauma Community Cemetery, 6012 Edina Street, Wimauma, FL 33598.

Mrs. Cheryl Ann Gibson was a loving and dedicated daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.  She attended local schools in Hillsborough County and graduated from East Bay High School.

At an early age she was baptized and raised in Mount Moriah M.B. Baptist Church, she actively participated in the choir and was the Church Secretary. Cheryl enjoyed studying the Bible and was an active participant in the Congress, Association, and many other church affiliations. She loved her family and enjoyed family times, especially reunions.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Harold Gibson; mother, Gloria Young; brother, Lloyd Young; maternal grandparents, James and Lillie Berrien; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Irene Young.

She leaves behind cherished memories to: her Children, Bryant Young (April), Myesha Young (Vincent), and Cherish Riley; stepson, Spanderia Coolpik; father, Charlie Young; sister/daughter, Ebony Young (Darrell); brothers, Phillip Young (Cherveronica), and Timmie young (Shameeka).

Cohen Jimmeria Young, Javanae Young, Kevon Johnson, Kavelia Johnson, Julian Cohen, Alaila Jenkins, Otis Jenkins IV, Kenya Cohen, Kavaila Johnson, Rihanna Gardner, Jordan Cohen, Xajavier Gardner, Javaris Gardner, Paris Gardner, Ja’zzaria Wilson, and Tyler Gardner; great grandchildren, Xayvion Young, Keimoni young, Auvianna Young, and Ace Young; nieces, Latoya Young, Tanesha Brown (Tommy), Ranesha Young, LaTara Burley, Tiaira Young, Lillian Young, Timara Young, Aramis Johnson, Camillia Young, Mya Gibson, Nia Gibson, and Valencia Mitchell; nephews, Phillip Young Jr., Preston Bell, Dezmond Young, Timmie Young Jr., D’marion Young, Quinton Stride, Garre’y Gibson, Climmie Gibson Jr., Kenneth Gibson, Cornelious Mitchell, and Vincent Mitchel; sisters-in-law, Mandy Gibson and Gloria Gibson; aunts and uncles, Retha Brown, John Berrien (Altamease) Christine Young, Pamela Berrien, Joyce Mathurin, Lois Young, Robert Berrien (Inell) Patricia Young, Thelma Berrien, Lillie Young, Mary Young, and Larry Berrien; special family, Reverend Ikie and Jeanette Bunton, Reverend John and Paula Lang, Darina Glover, Sharon Smith, Ladreda Spencer, Jackie Loubriel and Sonya Bell; special friends, Willie Adamson Sr., Mazie Lawson, and Beverly Starling; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mount Moriah M.B. Church, 5909 Vel Street, Wimauma, Florida.
