Trenton Johnson Obituary

Brother Trenton Bernal Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020.  Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Superintendent Charles Davis, Pastor of College Hill Church of God in Christ, officiating.  Please follow the CDC guidelines.  Masks are required.  

Trenton Bernal Johnson was a native of Tampa, Florida born to JoAnn Broome and Dr. Israel Peniel. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Hillsborough High School, Class of 1995.  Trenton continued his education at Mississippi Valley State University, Itta Bena, MS, where he earned his Sports Management Degree.  

Trenton was an avid sports fan and played football from youth until college.  He also was a Los Angeles Lakers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fanatic.  Trenton also served in the United States Army.   In his youth, he attended College Hill C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of Superintendent Charles Davis, prior to moving to Atlanta, GA. Trenton also attended House of Praise C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of Elder Donnell Williams, where he played the drums before leaving the Tampa Bay Area.  

Trenton is survived by: his mother, JoAnn Broome (Occylde); father, Dr. Israel Peniel;  sisters, Bernadette Johnson and Victoria Fabian (Kenta); brother, Keevis Johnson; Grandmother, Rosanna McCullough; aunts, Janie Brown, Fayetteville, NC, Barbara Ajibola, Brooklyn, NY, Reginia (Nicole) Shahen, Fayetteville, NC, Regenia Blash, Felicia Jones (Anthony), Jackson, MS, Diane Broomfield (Roosevelt) and Edna Scott (Leon) both of Gadsen, SC and Sally Alexandra-Bell (Larry), Baltimore, MD;  uncles, Darrell Johnson of CA, Ervin Brown, Donald Brown and Pastor Reginald Brown (Dawn), all of Atlanta, GA, William McCullough Jr. (Debra) and Ralph McCullough; nephews, Kente Fabian Jr., and Josiah Mitchell; niece, Jonaisha Fabian; God-mother, Priscilla Young; God-sisters, Zandra Wallace, Cherrice Landers and Janeen Watson, both of Richmond, TX; special friends, Alicia Baker, DeAndre Moore and a host of cousins, family members and friends.

The visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 18 at Ray Williams Funeral Home. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines.  Masks are required.
