Ms. Vera Mae Anderson of Tampa passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24th at 11am at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Pastor Donald Lott, officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Due to Covid-19 there will not be a repast. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
Ms. Anderson was born to the late K.C. Henderson and Eula Mae Stafford in Bainbridge, GA and was educated in the public schools of Decatur County. She later moved to Tampa, FL where she was a resident for over 50 years and began her career as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She accepted Christ as her personal savior and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Shirley Cooper and Gladys Tate; brothers, Charles Rhodes, Allen Rhodes Jr., K.C. Henderson; and grandson, Ryan Hemingway.
Ms. Anderson leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Delois (Sam) Hemingway and Peggy Williams; sister, Fannie Coleman of OH; grandchildren, Teanna (Shawn) Hemingway, Reco Hemingway, Jecoliah (Cory) Perkins, and Jayla (Xavier) Ballard; great-grandchildren, Kristiana Hemingway, Marcques Hemingway, and Devin Perkins; great-great-grandchild, Kendriana Freeman; nephews, Alec (Wanda) Muhammad, Lorenzo (Cathy) Rhodes, Antonio Rhodes, Arenza Rhodes, Allen Rhodes, Stanley Tate and Jessie Coleman of Ohio; nieces, Michelle Tate and Stephanie Tate of Ohio; cousins, Greg Smart, Jimmy Stafford, Gregory Stafford, and Ethel Mae Childes; friend, Otis Huff; and a host of other relatives and friends.
There will be no public viewing.
